After 25 creative and pioneering years in the food service industry, longtime Lopez resident Jeanna Carter pursued her other passions of sustainable living and education. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Sustainable Community Development with an emphasis on Education and a Masters Degree in School Guidance Counseling from Prescott College.
Jeanna works closely with students, parents and staff to help students reach their life potential. Middle and High School students appreciate her personal attention and willingness to hear their voices and concerns as she helps them choose their academic paths, while elementary students become enthusiastic learning about healthy life choices in her Elementary Wellness class. She hopes that her students are able “to learn the importance of being global citizens who are kind and respectful.”
She enjoys kayaking, gardening and fly fishing, and volunteers her time for the Lopez Island Education Foundation, Dollars for Scholars and Lopez Farm Education Program.
